I have a broken ankle. I am also a full-time, online, court reporting student. This requires me to sit at a computer desk for hours a day with a stenograph machine between my legs, with BOTH feet on the floor. I am unable to do this because I have to have my leg elevated. Doctor Winn's orders....that and if I lower my leg to the floor, it feels like my ankle is going to explode. He REFUSES to excuse me from school until I'm able to sit properly to do my school work. The lady that called to tell me that he can't give me a note was extremely rude and unprofessional. When I asked her why I was unable to get a note excusing me from class, her only response was "I'm just telling you what he said. Can't you just sit on the couch with your leg propped up like normal people and do your work that way?" The answer to that is NO. Have you ever gone into a courtroom and saw a court reporter sitting there with her leg propped up?? It's impossible to use that machine unless you are sitting properly. They clearly don't care about anything other than their $600 office visit payment. $600 for him to come in for 5 minutes, tell me it was broken (already been advised of this by 3 other doctors) and to tell me I don't need surgery, keep it elevated with ice and that he'll see me in two weeks. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE INJURED AND CAN'T WORK. THEY WILL NOT EXCUSE YOU!!! Now I have to withdrawal from school because my financial aide needs a doctor's note and I can't provide one for them. Thank you so much Dr. Winn. I've worked so hard for the last year for this degree only for you to be able to throw it down the drain in a matter of seconds. You might want to think about talking to your nurse. Maybe give her a lesson in ethics and common courtesy. She should NOT be speaking to your patients. She isn't qualified to do so. This place is a JOKE.
Showed interest in the care of my arm after a distal bicep tend rupture had surgery and he did great hardly see the scare excellent post op follow ups. Would highly recommend.
